Sami Awad grew up in Bethlehem in the West Bank. He is a graduate of the Peace and Conflict Resolution Program at the American University School of International Service. He has spent his career advocating a shared future for Palestinians and Israelis based on equality and human rights.

Bearing Witness to Genocide: A Eugene Doctor's Experience
Location: Unitarian Universalist Church, 1685 W 13th Ave, Eugene

Dr. Mark Brauner will talk about his experience in Gaza where he witnessed mass casualties after civilians were shot while lining up for food, and he saw the effects of starvation on children. He will also speak about his campaign for a review of laws prohibiting military aid to any foreign entity implicated in gross human rights violations.
